I am normally a 9 medium but I wound up setting the buckle closest to the toes on its tightest setting and having to punch an extra hole in the one over the instep. Without these adjustments the shoes just fell off.

So today I just ordered what I believe to be my 8th or 9th pair of the McGuffey Plain Toe, so I feel immensely qualified to comment. First the negative. . . Clearly I like them a lot, aside from 3 issues in the past. 1) One pair was inexplicably cut tight in the outside toe area and my pinky toes suffered through a lengthy break-in period (I've always ordered 9. 5 M). I managed to survive. 2) On two occasions, the laces were so short that tying them securely was nearly impossible. This is exacerbated by the fact that the style of lace on this shoe seems to find its way loose too easily. The positive. . . It is a super attractive and comfortable shoe that I consider reasonably durable (and I'm pretty tough on shoes). Lastly, the look has a good range, in that it can handle both casual and more formal wear very well. Versatile is perhaps a good descriptor for the McGuffey. Strongly recommend. Good value.

I don't want to be spending the money for actual Birkenstocks and these look just like them ( to me). Over the summer I basically went through every thing and they still look new(ish)

These were a gift for our DIL. When she opened them they looked well made and comfortable. She said they fit well and were fairly supportive. Time will tell how they hold up but they appear to be of good quality.
